Young Freidi lives in the town of Brustzura, Czechoslovakia, in the 1930s. Her neighbors are very poor, so Freidi gives them extra food from her family’s store and shares her lunches with hungry schoolmates. When Jewish villagers are deported to Poland with the start of the war, Freidi must act. Can she possibly reach them in time?
