Barbara Blum was born in New York, B.A. in History and Education, Hunter College. Took creative writing classes in the New School of Social Research. Taught first and second grade in N.Y. Public School System. Began to study painting in the Brooklyn Museum. Moved to Israel in 1968. Studied art at the Avni Art Institute. Won two scholarships for art from the Israeli Board of Education. Taught art workshops for children and adults. Taught beginning English for children. Participated in numerous group exhibitions and three one-person exhibitions. Member of the Israeli Artist Association. Took creative writing classes in Hebrew. Won third prize in short biography contest.
